Splitboarding and nights at Presset mountain hut - instructor/guide
Evolve in the area of a famous ski touring competition, hike and snowboard very close to the rocky peak of Pierra Menta, spend a night at Presset mountain hut at 2514 m altitude : this is what we offer you with an instructor/guide to supervise you. 2 days or more in the mountains and an evening at altitude in the very heart of Beaufortain to discover, on splitboard, the snowy valleys of this Savoyard massif.
Splitboarding with nights at refuge de Presset
Day 1 | Presset hut - 2514 m
M+ 1100 to 1450 m ; M- 0 to 350 m ; 4 to 6 hours
Access from the Tarentaise valley > Meet at the car park at the place called "Les Pars" above the village of Aime.
Day 2 | Brèche de Parozan - 2663 m
M+/M- 700 to 1500 m ; 4 to 6 hours
The next morning, once breakfast has been taken and the homemade Saint-Genix has been devoured, a myriad of options and itineraries present themselves to us. Very close to the refuge: the Bresson pass (2469 m), the Grand Fond pass (2671 m), the Brèche de Parozan (2663 m), the la Nova pass (2811 m)... switch to the combes and ski routes of the Beaufortain massif.
Day 3 | Lac d'Amour from Passeur de la Mintaz - 2575 m
M+ 800 to 1500 m ; M- 1700 to 2000 m ; 4 to 6 hours
The promiscuity of the various passes and "passeur" allows us to hike from the refuge by traversing a new route every day.
The above program is indicative and may be modified at any time by your guide if he or she deems it necessary for the safety of the group.

Presset hut

Camped on a small hill at an altitude of 2514 m, facing the Pierra Menta summit, bordered by a frozen lake in winter, and surrounded by a rocky cirque, the Presset hut is a place of choice for splitboarding and contemplating the summits. In addition, few refuges are guarded in winter, knowing that a heated place with half board awaits us at nightfall is a privilege that we would be wrong to do without. We know well Charlotte and Jean-Philippe, hut keepers of this refuge. If access to their lair requires some physical effort on the way up, the most difficult is invariably coming down, as the reception, the food, and the decor invite us to extend our stay.

Splitboard equipment rental
Finding quality splitboard gear in shops can be a real challenge. That’s why we’ve made it simple: during our courses, you can rent one of our all-inclusive splitboard packs. Each pack comes with a splitboard, climbing skins, 3-section poles and crampons — just bring your own boots and you’re ready to go. We only work with top-of-the-line equipment, because reliable gear makes all the difference in the mountains — especially if you’re just starting out. (Trust us, nothing kills the stoke faster than a heavy, clumsy splitboard on your very first tours…) Our fleet features PLUM Snowboards, fitted with Eterlou bindings, all proudly handcrafted at home in Haute-Savoie. Performance, lightness, and precision — only the best for your adventure!
