Introduction courses to splitboarding at Presset hut with a guide
How does an introductory splitboarding course take place and who is it intended for?
Required level
These 3 or 4 days introductory splitboarding courses with 2 or 3 nights at Presset refuge are intended for people who have never practiced splitboarding or who have made a few half-day or full-day introductory outings. Practitioners already have a good level in snowboarding and off-piste with permanent control of their speed and trajectory. Good physical condition is required: to access the refuge the positive elevation on the first day of hiking is 1000 m. The following days, the positive elevation will be less than or equivalent to 1000 m, starting from 2500 m altitude we will benefit from the best snow conditions and we will be able to adapt the level of difficulty of each day according to the desire and the fitness of the participants thanks to the numerous routes leaving from the refuge.
Level 1 - Beginner
Level 2 - Intermediate
Program
Each day of the course corresponds to an outing day in splitboarding: you will need to provide a picnic and something to drink. The difficulty of each hike varies according to the level of the group. During the course, emphasis will be placed on the use of touring equipment (splitboard, bindings, skins, ski knives) and the optimization of technique: how to move efficiently when climbing; introduction to conversions on gentle slopes; technique in off-piste snowboarding and changing snow...

Splitboard equipment rental
Finding quality splitboard gear in shops can be a real challenge. That’s why we’ve made it simple: during our courses, you can rent one of our all-inclusive splitboard packs. Each pack comes with a splitboard, climbing skins, 3-section poles and crampons — just bring your own boots and you’re ready to go. We only work with top-of-the-line equipment, because reliable gear makes all the difference in the mountains — especially if you’re just starting out. (Trust us, nothing kills the stoke faster than a heavy, clumsy splitboard on your very first tours…) Our fleet features PLUM Snowboards, fitted with Eterlou bindings, all proudly handcrafted at home in Haute-Savoie. Performance, lightness, and precision — only the best for your adventure!
